Car amp also known as car amplifier is one of the accessories that need to be in perfect working condition if you really want to have good and high quality sound in your car.

Common Causes and solution of Car Amp Problems

Over Heating: this one of the common problem that is found in most car amp, it is as a result of prolong  working of the amplifier this could result to total damage of the amp, but if it has a protective device that turns the amp off when it is experiencing over heating the amp turns off, what you do is to leave it for a while allowing it to cool before turning ON the amplifier again.

  If it does not have such device it is advisable to place it in an area where there are free flow of air or get amp that have temperature regulation device as this will help keep the amp cool when ever there is over heating.

Problem of volume: most amplifiers volumes goes off this occurs often when the there is an over heating, this can be over come by switching off the amp and allowing it to cool for some time before switching again as earlier said it should be place in a ventilated location in the car.

Amp not working: when find out that your car amp is not working when you try to put it on this could be the fuse thus check the fuse to know if it is blown or not. 

 Most of the time the fuse is always the main cause why the amp is not working and if you replace the fuse with a new one and it blows again then you have to seek the attention of an expert to find out the fault. 

 If you check and find out the fuse is in good order or you replace the fuse yet still not working check the power port it could be faulty.

Another common cause why car amp not working is that if the gain level is off and not turn on there will be no sound in the speaker hence make sure the gain level is in the on state.

Wiring problem: short circuit and open circuit is another common problem in car amp, most of the time there could be a cut in the wires that carries current to the amplifier hence the amp will not work, what you do is to inspect the wires that carries current to the car amp look for any portion where there is a disconnect, what you do is to cut off the bad spot and reconnect the wire again.
